Dr. K.K. Saxena is a senior interventional cardiologist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, bringing over 35 years of experience to the diagnosis and interventional treatment of coronary artery disease and complex cardiac conditions. His career at Apollo Delhi – one of India's most JCI-accredited cardiac programmes – has been defined by high-volume complex coronary intervention and outstanding long-term patient outcomes. Dr. Saxena completed his MBBS followed by an MD in Cardiology, building comprehensive clinical expertise before developing one of Delhi's most respected high-volume interventional cardiology practices. His clinical foundation in cardiac disease management extends across the full range of coronary and non-coronary cardiac conditions encountered in a busy tertiary referral centre. Over his 35-year career Dr. Saxena has performed over 15,000 angioplasty and cardiac catheterisation procedures. His area of particular expertise is complex percutaneous coronary intervention including multi-vessel disease, chronic total occlusions, heavily calcified lesions requiring rotational atherectomy, bifurcation lesions and left main coronary disease. He uses intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fractional flow reserve (FFR) to guide complex interventions with precision. He is highly experienced in primary PCI for STEMI – the life-saving emergency angioplasty procedure where speed and technical precision are critical. In addition to complex PCI, Dr. Saxena has extensive experience in cardiac device therapy including pacemaker implantation, cardioversion and cardiac monitoring. He manages a large outpatient cardiology practice providing comprehensive care for hypertension, dyslipidaemia, heart failure, valvular disease and arrhythmias alongside his interventional work.
